The purpose of this workshop is to explore the assessment indicators within the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard which will be effective September 2019. While assessment has been a topic of professional learning for over two decades, the new indicators provide an opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of the principles of sound assessment practice and to make practical application of those principles to their classroom/schools. Key questions which will be considered include: • How do we plan assessment with the end in mind? • How do we support the learner to successfully meet curricular outcomes? • How do we ensure the credibility of our judgements?
